    I have the above laptop and it is using the Chipset GM45 and a dual core CPU (T3400). I have read the HP's documents and I learned that this kind of chipset can support Core 2 Duo CPUs. I want to know what C2D CPUs does this chipset support. Thanks all

    You should be able to use every Socket P Core 2 Duo up through the T9900 given that your BIOS supports it. Extremes and Quads are probably out of the question, but you never know...

    Oopps! I almost forgot. The version of BIOS which I am using is F11C (it is used for installing XP SP2). Does it support the CPU you have mentioned? Thanks

    go to the hp website and download the latest BIOS version.. The Laptop can probably take any P series CPU or T9400/9600/9800/9900 CPU...

    This notebook is using the BIOS version F11C and it doesn't have any option for the onboard VGA. Recently, I have installed 1GB of RAM and I want to restore the full capacity of RAM (or an acceptable capacity) because the startup process cost about 4 minutes and the notebook only recognizes 986 Mb of RAM while my Acer notebook recognizes 1014 MB and the startup process cost 45 seconds. Is there any solution for this situation? Can I solve this problem by another BIOS Version that allows XP installation?
