Today I bought an Akasa laptop cooler for my second (mobile) laptop, the type that uses two fans to draw heat from the bottom. Can't say I notice much difference in temps, but the laptop base is completely cool, so It must be beneficial?
Well, I was wondering, drawing heat from the laptop base, isn't that just competing with the airflowing into the laptop, therefore all that's happening is the fan is *taking longer to activate* - CPU spends longer at higher temp = not good for it.
*I know that's the point, sort of. What I'm really bothered about is CPU temp in general. My fan activates at 59C and switches off at 45C, its a continual process, never a prolonged period at the low end, even when idle. Are my temps ok? CPU AMD Turion 64 ML-38, 2200 MHz. Thanks.
Ooops, sorry wrong forum. Can't figure how to delete, sorry!

Isnt the cooler blowing air on the bottom of the laptop? Or is it drawing air from it?

rule #1 in laptop cooler purchasing: read the rules
rule #2: check reviews
rule #3: ask here or search for it to see customers experiences
rule #4: buy me one too!
rule #5: if the cooler doesnt work for u, return it
rule #6: return the one you bought me too
rule #7: make sure the fans are actually drawing air out or pushing air in from/to the hotspots by being near or under them, otherwise the cooler isnt really going to be very effective and in some cases might make it worse.
