Well I have the choice of two different cpus for my new laptop.
Im not sure which one would be more important fsb or l2 cache..
    Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz 3MB L2 Cache 1066mhz FSB which is gonna cost me $220
    or i can get
    Core 2 Duo T9500 2.6GHz Processor, 800MHz FSB, 6MB L2 cache which is gonna cost me $280

    my laptop has resolution (1280x800)
9600m GT nVIDIA DDR video card
    4GB OCZ 800MHZ RAM
    250 Seagate 7200RPM Hard Drive
    Intel 5300wifi

which cpu would be better for overclock and just regular for both gaming and school... and also according to this site i found T9500 does better than a T9400 and the 9400 has 1066mhz FSB which is confusing me.

Please help me with my dilemma!

FSB doesn't mean much since the full bandwidth is never really saturated. The T9500, while being an older CPU, is faster due to it's higher clockspeed (mainly) and higher cache. T9400 is 100MHz slower and P8600 is 200MHz slower. Also, do you know if your notebook is even OCable? Personally, for just gaming and school, even the lowest end CPU will do the trick for you. You won't notice much (if any) difference in speed.

You can have a Santa Rosa CPU in a Montevina notebook.

ahh thanks i needed some one to confirm that :) i talked to some one else about it ...

Then i say go for the T9500 :)

Low resolution usually equals more cpu intensive so go for the higher clocked one (if you have the money of coarse)
