    Laptop HDMI to Analog VGA Monitor?

    So while im at work i wont be doing any gaming on my M15X and there are plenty of standard VGA monitors to use. But, the M15X has an HDMI out. how can I connect my M15X to a VGA Monitor?

    find an adapter to do that. but why settle for vga when you have hi-def in hdmi? :D

    You're looking at quite an expensive converter box for the digital to analog signal.

    And boypogi, VGA is high-def as well. Just because it's analog doesn't mean that it's standard def only.

    That won't work with just a cable (except for one expensive one that has the converter box built in). You need a seperate digital-analogue converter. These can be expensive.

    HDMI=only digital
    VGA=only Analogue
    DVI-I= both digital and Analogue
    DVI-D=only idigtal
    DVI-A=only Analogue.

    Its just for work. so i dont care about high quality. but im just going to buy one with DVI anyways. thanks for the replys.
