Hey Guys, so I bought laptop K50AB a couple months ago and it should have camed with Radeon HD 4570 Video Card. However when I go under device manager-- display adapters, it always shows me that I have HD 3200 or sometimes both HD 3200 and HD 4570.

I called asus and they told me to uninstall HD 3200, so I did that and after my PC was constantly shutting on and off.

Did asus ship my PC with wrong video card?

PS: Every time I plug in my computer for charging, it switches to a different graphics process, is this normal???

I really appreciate all the help!!!

I beleive that u have 2 display adapters... switchable ones.... so on battery , u use 3200 and on AC u use 4570 which uses more power... there must be a way for u to switch yourself... check ATI control pannel...

    ...

Check the specs of your model on the manufacturer's web page to see whether you're supposed to have two display adapters.

    Thx for the replies guys.
So, when I am charging my laptop, the laptop switches to HD 3200 from 4570. Sometimes, it stays the same, sometimes it changes from HD 4570 to HD 3200.

I checked the Asus and Newegg Websites and they both say that my laptop has ONLY HD 4570 Video Card. Do you guys know how I can disable the second video card and only run the first one?

PS: When you charge your laptops does it immediately say for you that you are about to switch do different graphics processsor??

On a few laptops that have switchable graphics or NVIDIA Hybrid SLI, like the Alienware M17x, there is an option in the BIOS that disables whichever graphics you choose to disable. If I were you, I would look for an option in the BIOS that disables the the HD 3200.

If the laptop model is specified to only have a 4570, then you probably won't find anything in the BIOS since the laptop simply doesn't have a 3200 IGP.

Could they un-install the driver and re-install a newer version and see if that helps?
Does the laptop use both at the same time like crossfire?

The laptop only uses one(mostly the lower HD 3200). I tried uninstalling HD 3200(the wrong one), but after I did it the computer was constantly shutting on and off.

How do I get to BIOS in my PC?

When you start up the notebook, there will be a splash screen, usually with the manufacturers logo. There will be a certain key that you have to press, like F2 or the Delete key, or the Escape key.
