Recently my Toshiba u405 laptop monitor has been flickering/shaking as in the screen shakes and stops
when i move the angle of the monitor it shakes more vigoursly to the point where i can see pink/redish lines across my screen
whats going on?
-
sounds like the refresh rate isn't set correctly?
-
Likely, the screen cable is loose or frayed. Open up the laptop and check the hinge area, and make sure the screen cables are securely attached. If it's frayed, then it will need to be replaced.

its nothing to do with replaceing the CCLF though right?
hmmm opening up the laptop?
is it hard?
im afraid i might not get it back together after opening it
and if its frayed is it expensive to fix? -
anyone??????

I don't think your backlight (CC FL) is the problem. It very well could be the connection between the motherboard and the LCD panel.
I don't know if it's hard or not, I've never opened a Toshiba. You could do a search for the service manual. How old is it? If you're not comfortable doing it AND it's going to void your warranty, then send it in for repair.
If it's out of warranty, go for it. Being afraid isn't going to fix the problem. At best you fix it, at worse you have to get it repaired.. and if you don't open it, you'll have to get it repaired anyway. -
For first check connector's flex with motherboard and LCD.
ps now repair 2 asus 1000h , bad connections -
its about a 1 1/2 year old laptop
its the 13" toshibas
no warrenty as it was bought off someone
hmmmm i guess i'll open it and give it a look
hopefully i dont mess anything up
