You can use any DDR2 notebook memory in the Inspiron 6000, including 800MHz DDR2. The Inspiron 6000 can only run memory at 533MHz, but the 800MHz memory will downclock to that maximum speed. If you can find a cheaper set of 2 x 1GB of 533MHz memory, it will probably be more worthwhile for you to buy that.

Wait, you took your laptop apart because you lost a CD?

I had a similar problem with CD's. My brother and I used to use AOL cd's as Frisbee's inside of the house. We were playing in the kitchen. My brother threw the disc at me, and it just disappeared. We thought it went behind the refrigerator, and it wasnt their. We still have not found it

Funny you mention this, I went to the bathroom yesterday after burning a W7 DVD, came back that was missing, my driver CD was also missing and my son was holding the True Image CD (the one that had been in the drive). Anyway I went to put the true image CD back in and the drive wouldn't close, turns out that the other two discs were already in the drive, how he managed that i will never know.
