    What's the difference in these 2 Kingston RAM products for laptop's? One says "Value RAM"...what's that??

    Kingston any good? Should I look at another brand? Crucial price is somewhere in between these 2 prices.

    I actually think there is no real 'performance' difference, I recall there was a small thread about the two.

    im assuming your going to buy cheap but dont get the kbyte, go to the hep section of the forums search there to see if anyboys got the ram yoru looking for. Maybe youll find some reviews about ram you shouldnt buy, the cas lateny is stated on the one dim but not the other so i cantg say much about that theres a ram tutorial guide here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=30282

    Value ram is the name given to the lower end of the kingston line. It's not that value rams will fail or anything like that. The regular line are just put under more rigorous testings and inspections. For laptops this is irrelevant especially that they perform almost identically.

    This is more of a desktop thing. None value rams overclock better (more stable) and can be run with more agressive timings with no problems. Since this is not done in notebooks...

    I would recommend you stick with the more tried and trusted brands: crucial, kingston, corsair, and a few I cannot remember. That's not to say that others won't work well, but you never know about running into compatibility issues. (I have used A-Data and kingmax, of the not so trusted brands, and they both perform great with no problems)
