    Hi,

I have a fujitsu Amilo laptop, an older one which was bought with 512GB of and a 2.8ghz pentium 4 CPU. Since then the previous owner has boosted the RAM up to 2GB. This is great but the ram banks (if that's the right word) give off alot of heat, and also they take up all the free airspace meaning the circulation isn't great. I have one of those cheap 3 fan cooler pads that I got off ebay which helps but the laptop still gets very hot very fast if I am watching DVD's or gaming (Its not too bad with gaming).

I have a downloaded speedfan which I really just use to monitor temperature, I don't know enough to adjust settings or anything like that) is there anything else I can do to help cool the laptop???

Also I heard of a program that you can download to check your hardware for faults but I forgot it, anyone know of a good one???

    Thanks for your help

As posted, take a look at the cooling guide. Getting a cooling pad for your notebook would help greatly.
