My mom got a new apple laptop and since she is abandoning her old Toshiba Satellite A75 I want to reinstall XP clean and disassemble it. Install a touchscreen and make a new case.

Any suggestions on the case and the touchscreen?

It is not possible to do, because the screen on the toshiba will use a proprietary port, which only that screen will use. Most of the time the port on the screen will be only used on one screen. SOmetimes though, you may be able to find a different manufacturer screen which uses the same port, but that will be hard to find, especially cause the touchscreens are very small, and their are only a few of them made.

oh, well then that is possible, I was assuming you were going to take the lcd out and replace it with a touchscreen.

Well you will have to find a touchscreen with a port your system can use, either vga, serial or parallel. Than you will have to mod the laptop lid to fit the screen. Then you would need a massive amount of autobody compound to make teh lid somewhat presentable. Than you would have to sand it and make the finish smooth. Than it can be painted.
This will be quite a lot of work, but if you are a hands on guy it will be a lot of fun.
