I have a Sagar np2090 (specs below) that I love, but the screen is too small. Could I run a 1920 x 1200 monitor and run the laptop at 1680 x 1050? My dream is to have a "dual" monitor with the laptop screen and a 24" monitor both displaying different things (i.e. run yahoo messenger on my laptop screen while playing solitare on my 24" screen). Do you think this is possible? Ohh and I am thinking about purchasing the HP w2408h, so if anyone has any comments on that please chime in. Thanks.

    -2gb ram
    -160gb 5200rpm HD
    -1680 x 1050 matte 15.4" screen
    -Windows XP

You should be able to run 2 seperate screens at once like that. You may have some issues running 2 sceens at different res though.

    Yes this is very plausible.
You can run both screens at the same time. You can choose to span them as one big screen. All you need to do is get an external screen which has a compatible video connector (DVI, HDMI or VGA) which matches the video out on your laptop.

Yes, you can have different resolutions on both monitors. You can specify this in the graphics properties window.

I'm doing this right now with my 1520 and 22inch samsung monitor. there linked via dvi and my laptop screen runs next to the big monitor. I have it set up so the mouse flows directly from one screen to another and i use the big one for games while the other runs internet and im.
