Is it possible?
Hello fellow Laptop enthusiast,
I'd like to ask your help in setting up my laptop as a video editor--a Holiday gift to me.![]()
According to the system requirements for video editing, the software works best when the video program is not on the same disc used for storage. What would be the best combination/configuration of hardware to make this work most efficiently on a $800-1000 budget? Naturally I'd like to get the most bang for the buck (maximum storage), but even if I meet minimum storage, I'd be happy.
Wish List:
SSD 32-128
7200 RPM HDD 500-1TB?
Blu-ray burner
Internal/external?
Video software--Adobe CS4

Some notebooks like ThinkPads for example allow you to replace the optical drive with a hard drive, which would give a second drive. I use this setup on my R60. I can swap the hard drive for the optical drive as needed. Or some larger notebooks have two hard drive bays, the HP dv7 would be one example.
