Hi, I'm looking to get a new laptop wireless card. I was looking at the intel 7260 series, but I wasn't sure which one to get. I want the best one available. I would rather the new 7265, but I haven't seen those for sale anywhere. I am also open to different recommendations. I do NOT want to hear "why do you want to upgrade your current card" or "it's not normal to upgrade" or anything of the sort. I want to upgrade, I'm just having trouble picking one out. Intel has like 10+ models in the 7260 series (obviously, I want the best one with wireless AC). ARK | Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 - that web address is the chart with all the different ones. Can someone please explain to me the difference and which is the best (and where to buy it would be a big help as well). The laptop is for home gaming use with a top-of-the-line router. If anyone has any better suggestions, that's welcome as well.

Yes, 7265 is a M2 only wifi card... So 7260 is your best bet...

No, its not an m.2, thanks for that. Now there are many different models in the 7260 series and I haven't been able to find the difference. I want the best one and there are multiple models being sold online. Or does anyone have a different company which they recommend?

Can you tell us the model of your notebook? This is to give us an insight on what model to recommend as certain vendors such as HP and Lenovo tend to lock in specific wireless cards and using an unauthorised card may prevent it from working.

Depending on your make/model of notebook.
Personally I purchased this MINI-PCI-E half card: Intel WiFi Wireless-AC/BT 7260.HMWG, but it was too unreliable connecting in Windows 7 and 8.
I replaced the intel with this card: AzureWave AW-CE123H, always connects at 866.5Mbps, no problems with the broadcom drivers with the Asus AC router.

Thanks, I'll look into that suggestion. I am looking into the Intel 7260.HMWG.R. I believe the R means revised. What about Killer cards? And does anyone know the difference between all the different intel models and which is best?

Are u trying to argue? The 7265 is a m2 only card... I know this for sure.. As for 7260, best bet is getting the R version since it hopefully shouldn't have these problems.. As far as I'm aware.. Killer 1525 ac is the only ac killer card and it is M2 only.. Killer 1103, 1202 are wireless n cards and come in mpcie..

lol no, it's a misunderstanding. "it's not an m.2 is referring to my laptop not having an m.2 slot. thanks for the info on the killer card. so basically I'm stuck with the intel 7260 which isn't so bad except im not sure which one to get. I know to get the R version, but there is the 7260.HMWG.R, 7260.HMWGUX.R, 7260.HMWGC.R, 7260.HMWD.R, 7260.HMWWB.R, 7260.HMWGC.I. Which one should I get and what are the differences?
