    Hey Guys,

My laptop won't charge. I have tested the charger on another laptop and it works and I have tried a second charger on my laptop and it still won't charge. It will turn on unplugged so battery is fine and I have tried my back up battery and it won't charge either. I suppose this is the powerjack but I just wanted an opinion if that was probably the case. What's strange is, I can still feel an electric current coming out of the USB Jack with my finger when my charger is plugged in, and there is no current when it's unplugged. But I have tested to see if my iPod would charge and it doesn't. Does this sound like a major power jack replacement operation or is there some secret button I could press haha? It's an ACER Timeline 1830 Ultrabook/Netbook/Not really sure what category it falls into-book. Thanks for any help.

You did all the basics. You may have a damaged jack AND/OR charging circuit. The big question is are you still under warranty? If not then check for flat rate repair if your not comfortable to pull main board. Sorry, no magic bullet that I'm aware of. Good Luck!

Passed the warranty unfortunately. I've tried accessing the motherboard before and ended up breaking a few latches so I'm not doing that again haha. Luckily I live in Asia now so cheap computer repair is everywhere.
