Just got my new laptop today. When i first got the laptop, i had it plugged it and used it for about and hour, then put it on standby and unplugged it for about another hour, then i used it plugged in for about another hour, then i used it unplugged til it shut down, now it's off and fully charged. Now i've heard you're supposed to let it fully drain numerous times, or leave it plugged in for a certain amount of time, to condition the battery and prolong it's life. Is what I did okay to 'condition' the battery? Thanks.

Normally, I fully charge a machine before first use, but otherwise do pretty much what you've done. You should drain and fully recharge your battery occasionally. My son is using a 3 year old PowerBook with the original battery; he drains his battery and recharges it at least once a week - seems to work well.

I think your only suppose to do that on non-lithium ion batteries.
Check in this forum for a thread about conditioning your battery.
