Hi everyone, I hope you guys can help me with this. I have just inherited a (somewhat) broken IBM Thinkpad i series laptop to do with what I wish. I'm not sure of processor speed/memory etc., all I know is that it has a celeron sticker which sucks, a designed for Windows 98 sticker, also blows, and one usb port in the back. My question is this: Am I stuck with the current configuration or can I buy, say, a motherboard and new processor, hard drive, and RAM for this thing and soup it up so its at least semi-current? I have experience with doing this on a desktop, I built mine from scratch, but I have no experience whatsoever with laptops. I really hope there is something I can do because a decent laptop would be a Godsend right now given my current work/school situation, and I don't have the cash to buy new.

Not possible. Two reasons.
1. Form factor changes every model or so.
2. The boards you could use aren't for sale per piece.
