    Hello!

The internal cooling fan in my HP Pavilion dv6000 is dying and I am looking online to purchase a replacement for it. I don't want to buy the wrong fan. Would this work?

    Thank you!

That picture is totally wrong...that is for a desktop heatsink/fan.

Are you sure that is the right part number? Go to HP part surfer and punch in your model part number. Usually HP separate fan and heatsink P/N.

Eek! Thank you for pointing that out. :)

I went on that website and found that the fan part number I need is 450933-001.

    I found this on Google.

Edit** I put the wrong address. -_-

:D I think that this will work, as it's much clearer! But an "OK" from you guys would make me feel better about buying it. ^-^

how do you know your fan is dying? is it making terrible sounds, not spinning up, what is it doing?

have you tried thoroughly cleaning the fan? (not just using canned air to just clear the exhaust port)
