I applied new thermal compound to laptop's CPU and integrated GPU. Everything seems to work fine but for some reason my laptop keeps restarting after like 30 minutes of use. Checking the temperatures, they seem to be fine (50C-70C). How odd...

Your motherboard could be ready to take a dive.

Laptop is not even half a year old.

I was wondering, since the GPU is integrated, is it possible that the GPU is heating up causing a reboot (maybe I applied it incorrectly), but the temperature reading only reads the CPU?

Edit: It's an ATI HD 3200 btw.

Your notebook would not start if you have a bad GPU.

Have you tried to swap the ram modules around or use just one stick if you have 2?

I tried, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Now I've run into a new problem. It seems while I'm playing a game or browsing the web, my network card seems to shut down. The computer locks up and I am forced to restart...

This is really frustrating. I am postive that while I am replacing the thermal paste on the CPU that none of the hardware was damaged...

    My laptop is screwed.

I had the same problem you discriped in your last post. My friend had a ThinkPad laptop which randomly (mostly when surfing on internet). The problem was the battery. I first did a clean install on his laptop. Then I swap the ram modules around, that did not work either. But my last try was to take the battery out, I removed the battery and the laptop was fine again. Then I pluged it in back, the problem appeard again. Now he simple use his laptop on AC :)
    Hope this helps :)

The temps you mentioned don't sound normal, especially for a computer with an IGP. Are you sure that the fan is working? I know it sounds elementary, but its easy to forget to power cable to the fan before reassembling the computer.

Thanks for your replies guys, but it seems I'm still stuck.

The battery isn't an issue. And the fan runs fine. Before I replaced the thermal paste, the laptop was heating up to 80C to 90C.

I cannot even load up the bios...my laptop seems to freeze when showing the manufacturer upon loading.

it could be ur motherboard dying ... and the temps are not suprising... laptops with AMD processors and NVDIA 8200M G reach these temps easily... even some laptops with intel CPU"s and Integrated GPU's...

You might want to double check and make sure you locked your CPU in properly. It's a bit of a long shot, but you might have turned the screw and paritially unlocked your CPU. It's locked in enough to boot sometimes, but as your notebook heats up, or now when it's not even getting into BIOS, it's detecting that your CPU isn't locked in, and thus is shutting down.
