I was going to just ask what your favorites are and why.
I'm about to get some ddr4 and I was seeing the reviews at random

Depends whats available. Last laptop I bought came with 1x 8GB stick of Elpida DDR3L, the only 8GB DDR3L SODIMM available locally at the time was Transcend so have a mixed pair but works okay.
So in answer to your question, whatever works at a reasonable price. -

I chose Corsair & Kingston. I've got a mixture of both of those makes in my laptop, and I was able to overclock both of them from 1600Mhz to 1866Mhz at pretty much the same timings (albeit with an increase in voltage from 1.5V to 1.6V), so I'm quite impressed with these modules. The Corsair RAM failed (before I overclocked), I think because I vacuumed my laptop to remove dust - yes I've learned my lesson - and Corsair replaced the RAM free of charge when I let them know it was throwing up Memtest errors. Good customer service & good overclocking & also good reliability (the failure was my fault).

My #1 choice is G.Skill, with Crucial being a close second. I've only had one failure with G.Skill, and that was on a stick of DDR2 desktop RAM about 3 years after I owned it. The company replaced it without question. I've had a couple more issues with Crucial, but they've also been good about replacements. I also like them for their ubiquity. There have been times where I've needed RAM in a pinch, and it was easy enough to pop down to the local computer shop and pick some up.
I've yet to have a positive experience with Corsair memory. -
My favorite? Well, that'd be the cheapest RAM available for a given spec that is sold by a well-known brand.
RAM is RAM is RAM, really. I've purchased/have Mushkin, Samsung, Hynix, G.Skill, Crucial, and Kingston RAM and they all work as intended, so I'm happy with all of them.ellalan and alexhawker like this. -
Kingston is my favourite.. Have had Hyper X in my laptops for the last few years and it's awesome.. Also that lifetime warranty...
