    Hi,

I need some help. I ordered a B156HW01 V.7 screen and got a B156HW01 V.5 instead. I need to know is the screen I got crap compared to the V.7 ? From what I can read it is crap and I should really get the V.7.

I ordered it on Ebay and it said V.7 on the site and on the invoice but when I checked on the back of the screen it had V.5. I think I may have been duped.

Should I get it replaced ? Or at least try to ?

No I did not. I am still waiting on the cable in order for it to display. It doesn't ship until the 19th of February.

As far as I understand V.5 is a poor relation to the V.7 which I ordered. It has poor viewing angles and colours wash.

Its glossy and thats what I ordered but its not V.7 even though it said V.7 on the invoice and on the website

My advice get a full refund contact the seller and tell them that they model listed isn't the model you wanted and either send you the right version as listed on their ad or you can return the item and mark it as mislabeled and to get a full refund. That is your only choice at this point in time. If the ad was for v.7 and got v.5 then yes you are entitled to the right one that they listed not one they want to sell you. But you need to contact the seller and ask how come your ad says v.7 but you gave me a v.5 why is that? This is something only you and the seller and last if need be Ebay can only help with. We can only give you our opinion and for me if the item you got isn't the same number then I say return it. And look for the correct replacement again. As with anything a higher revision number usually means a problem was fixed with later revision. Those numbers don't decrease they only increase with a revised hardware upgrade or BIOS upgrade not the other way around.

Thanks for the response. I sent an email this morning asking for the right screen and I am waiting for the response. There was only the one screen on sale on the Ebay page and it said V.7 all over it. I hope I don't have to pay for more shipping. I can't wait for 1080p on my laptop, I just hope I get the V.7 and it works (and no dead pixels).

I just got a response back from the Ebay seller

Its seems like they don't have the V.7 in the first place.

I'm at square one again. Looking for B156HW01 V.7. Can anyone recommend a good place to get one ?

I was aware of the Matte which a lot of people seem to get, is the matte better than the glossy ?

I had hope they had a v.7 for you but what is your part number listed for your v.7 screen? Maybe the rest can look with that number and see what they can come up with or if not take a picture of the sticker with the model and make and parts number and the rest can crunch the numbers and see what they can find. But usually for Ebay if you have the Part. No. and search based on that number you should find a match but look also at the back connectors to see if they match your old v.7 connection setup before buying. I notice there are slight changes that can make a huge difference so check the connectors on your backside of the LCD and the advertised LCD and see are they the same setup or not and match with your part number. That is all you can do at this point in time unless you want to buy from the manufacture which is in itself a expensive way to go that could be cost prohibited.

Well I shipped it back to him this morning. No more from him !

I was looking for the V.7 and came across this site with two options. No answer from them when I called but if I get a refund ok I think I will go ahead with one of them.

I'm not 100% sure on the screen fitting the cable and the cable working on my laptop but I have no other option but try !

Since we don't know who the ebay seller was that sold you that LCD there is a chance one of the reply might have that seller listed by accident so could you tell us whom that seller is?

Here are a couple of ebay search using your model number:

    As mentioned in PM

If you want to buy the exact screen, make sure it mentions EXACT model specifically. No point wasting time taking gambles and wasting money on shipping. Want a good screen? Pay the import tax cos you can't get the screen reliably outside.

Thanks very much for the help, I'm checking out a few places closer to home and try to avoid the import tax if possible. However if it comes to it I will pay the tax for the best screen possible.

I was looking at this site in the U.K. Its just a bit confusing at times as it says things like :

I'm not sure if they mean its a genuine B156HW01-V.7 or compatible version.

https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/ seem to be the real deal but their shipping is a bit expensive.

I think UK has Ebay as well...but you have to see if they have a listing there.

The screen I sent back to the German Ebay seller seems to have failed to deliver and I'm getting a return to sender note on the tracking page. What a mess.

The UK site I posted above turns out they are shipping a V.4 instead of a V.7. How lame is that ? You would think you would at least get the right screen type. They said "...................We don’t have the exact in stock but we do have compatible (B156HW01 V4) which is matte......"

Getting a B156HW01 V.7 has not been easy so far.

Did you put some kinda tracking on it or did the label have a tracking number? If they haven't gotten it back and the seller can find it then you need to contact Euro Ebay and talk to the rep and tell them the situation. We can't help with that and that is something Ebay and you and the seller must find a resolution for unfortunately.

It has online tracking and is insured. I also have the correct address written on it. It seems they tried to deliver after 6pm when the guy was gone. As far as I can make out they left a note where the LCD panel can be picked up. This is not the same as UPS, FEDEX et al operate and I don't think the guy has seen the note or made it to the local post office to try to collect it. I sent an email to EBay this morning telling them what the status is.. hopefully it will all work out.

If I get a refund I might have to go and pay a bit extra for the B156HW01 V.7 from the U.S. Everything I am looking at is compatible only

**Edit The seller got the returned screen i sent but it arrived severely broken. It looks like someone stood on it. I think he did. No picture yet of the back so I could verify it was damaged. What a waste of time.
