I would like to connect my e1505 laptop to the TV (ol' tube).
My laptop has both VGA and S-Video (7-pin?). My ol' TV has only S-Video in.

So which will give me the best picture, VGA>S-Video adapter connection or straight S-Video connection??
I'm using it for movies only.

Since your TV cannot accept VGA, you are stuck with using S-Video.

I would just use an S-Video cable to connect your S-Video out on the notebook to the TV S-Video in.

There is no point to using an adapter to connect up your VGA out. The final resolution is going to be whatever S-Video can display, which is less than what VGA can do.

I haven't tried the VGA->S-Video one, so I am not sure. The S-Vid to S-Vid is okay. If your TV is a normal screen type, then you're going to really be able to see a change in picture. Quality was okay, but I get a lot better with my DVD player, so I am sticking with that.
