Hey guys, so basically I bought a new asus X550CA laptop. The thing is absolutely brilliant apart from one problem. Ok, so while I am playing games like minecraft on it, the touchpad has some issues. For one, the tap-click does not respond for about one second after a keystroke ( I,ve disabled the touchpad delay when using keyboard). I think it's the palm check thing thts messing with my laptop but there's no device settings in mouse properties and Asus Smart gesture doesn't have an option either. The weird thing is tht unlike most palm check issues, I can move the cursor around while pressing keyboard keys but it's just the tapping function tht doesn't work. Any help is appreciated....I have a similar post on Toms hardware but no one could help me there as well. ( I'll post the link here if requested) thnx

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Have you tried updating the drivers from ASUS website? Sometimes they ship out of date drivers and a newer version fixes alot of issues.

yea i've updated ALL of the drivers i thought had something to do with the touchpad (LAN and audio drivers r obviously not related to touchpad), i havent BIOS tho...(i dunt want to get into some sort of BIOS compatibility issue). n yeah...the link to my Tom's Hardware post is here Laptop touchpad not responding while gaming - Touchpad - Video Games . just so u noe wht i've tried n wht i havent tried. thnx
...btw, before tryin to dig into the innards of my laptop, i was planning on creating a recovery media. I have an externall HDD (i use it to store my steam games) but i plan on partitioning it...one partition for recovery, the other for my games. if i create a recovery on the recovery partition, will it ERASE the WHOLE HDD??? including my games tht r on the ohter partition??? -
Saw your post on both sites while googling this issue myself. Ran into it while gaming as well. I have a slightly different model asus laptop and I had this exact same problem. The solution is to download the elantech driver. It's who makes the asus trackpads these days. Somehow when they rebranded it they managed to screw it up. Way to go Asus! lol. Anyway, you can get the drivers on their site still at least. ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Touchpad

1. Move mouse to top right of screen, some options should pop up
2. Then click on 'settings'
3. Then underneath power click 'change pc settings'
4. Click on 'pc and devices' then 'mouse and trackpad'
5. Underneath touchpad click on the dropdown menu and choose no delay
Hope that helps.
