    Hi everyone,
I don't really know where to ask this. I have a herniated disc that makes sitting at a desk very painful. I plan to buy a ultrabook to use it lied down on a bed, with the computer on my lap or my belly. I'm worried that I might block the air intakes ( if they are on the bottom ) doing this.
So what do you think of this ? is it a good idea ?
    Thanks

What about a projector pointed at the ceiling and a wireless mouse and keyboard? You could then place the ultrabook and/or desktop wherever you like.

The new MSI GS63VR and GS73VR have vents on top so you can never block airflow in any way. You get the same temperatures on your lap as you do on a desk. And with cheaper fanless ultrabooks you don't have to worry about ventilation.

@nohaybanda I use my convertibles just fine like that. They ain't fanless, on the opposite come with full-voltage, albeit dual-core, processors. Fans rarely turn on unless I'm doing something heavy, and with new thermal paste temps are always decent, so I don't bother.

A hard cover book will do the trick.

I would suggest a tray or something like that too, that should prevent any overheating issues..

What do you plan to do with your laptop? If it's not gaming related I would take a look at a convertible or even a surface. I use my surface all the time in bed both in tablet mode and with keyboard out.
