    Hi, new here
I'm currently looking to purchase a laptop with an 880M SLI configuration
    https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/vortexIV-Elite-SE/
Although this laptop will mainly be for a desktop replacement, at times around the house I will need to use it on battery and I'm wondering whether it's possible to turn off both graphics cards manually and switch to Intel's integrated GPU, since SLI does not work with Nvidia Optimus

    Any ideas?

You just answered your own question. You won't be able to access the iGPU since Optimus is incompatible with SLI and that laptop does not have MUX like the AW 18 does

sorry but what is an MUX? I realise that Optimus will definitely not be supported, but is there no way to disable the discrete graphics cards? e.g. in device manager or nvidia control panel to stop them from working

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all Clevo SLI systems have the iGPU shut off at the hardware level?

Yup, I believe only the AW18 series is able to access the iGPU with SLI...
