    Hello.
I have a laptop which *I believe* is a fried/failed hard drive. Although I'm not a computer genius, I think that is what the problem is. Now that happened about 4 months ago. I have a new laptop shortly after as a gift, the old laptop it self is nothing spectacular. If you find it in today's market it would cost like 350$ new or maybe even less.

My question is can I sell the laptop as is to a computer place or salvage parts to sell? Or it is just junk?

Sell it online as a whole for spare parts. eBay, craigslist or kijiji are three possible marketplaces.

If it is just a bad HD, you might get more money for it as a working unit without an OS, over a "parts only" laptop.

You could try selling it on this forum's Marketplace as a whole working laptop without the HD.
