I just tried to downclock my Intel qm740 in set fsb from 133fsb stock down to 120fsb and everything froze.

Now my laptop won't even boot. When I click the power button I see a led light go on for 1 second and the fan starts for 1 second. After that it just shuts off. Anyone got any idea what might be wrong?

I already used set fsb to overclock from 133 to 147 fsb the without any issues before this so it's strange that this happen when I later tried to downclock it.

It's a msi gx640 and I've tried to unplug the bios battery cable for 8 hours to reset the bios without any luck

Uhh if it powers on for only a short while, usually means a power circuitry issue with your motherboard. Try a power reset, remove your battery and AC adapter, hold down power button for 30 seconds 2-3 times. Hope that helps.

You just tried to use overclocking tool for downclocking and it stopped working? What possibly could be wrong, it is strange indeed.
Something situated between chair and the keyboard, maybe?
