You seem to have tried everything I would try. If it's still under warranty, then send it in and see what Dell says.

Hi!
If your notebook is still in warranty, perhaps you might want to contact Dell and see if they could help you. -

This is a MB failure to me.
Your system overheated (somehow) and froze Windows (but no BSOD) but it has happened enough times that a critical part/component fizzled out this time.
Get the system up and running - remove your data - don't use it again - and sell it.
This will happen again (usually when your warranty runs out). -

I doubt a software was responsible for the MB failure (it would probably only be the case if you improperly flashed the BIOS for the motherboard in question, or if a virus managed to get to the BIOS and ruin it - though there are inbuilt measures to prevent the virus from doing that).
So my guess would be hardware failure (nothing to do with software).
One other question...
when was the last time you cleaned out your laptop from dust?
it's possible there's so much of it accumulated that the computer simply can't function properly... then again, it might not be.
Either way, if you get the replacement MB, then it's likely something like this won't happen until the warranty runs out...
The issue is whether the hardware is gimped to fail intentionally or not.
Bad soldering or something else (such as a manuf. error). -
My money's on failed GPU.

I agree that this is faulty hardware/design/cooling specifications.
Yes, it will happen again: it's designed to fail.
Don't take a chance that it will fail before your warranty runs out: fix it, sell it and forget about it. -

Laptop won't start, need confirmation of problem.
