I am trying to compile a list of them as i only know prolly 2... forgive me if a thread has been started on this or if this seems totally unnecessary at this time.
I am thinking to just list the brand of course, and model... and prolly lament on them a little prolly some specs... maybe this can get a sticky status if it reaches some where...
- OCZ 17B1-US - a do it yourself notebook which is in-expensive and uses most core2duo/quad mobiles of 800/1066, ddr3 ram and GT130M 512MB ddr3
- HP DV7t - I stumbled on this when i got it to install Office on... opened up the back and realised it was capable of two hard drives.
I am trying to remember this Toshiba that had decent specs... when i find it i will post it...
-
Dell Vostro 1700 does, as would the equivalent Inspiron. Worth checking their current 17" machines...
-
Found the Tosh i was trying to remember...
Toshiba Satellite A355-S6943 - comes with a 250gb and a 500gb.... P7450, 4gb ram, 16 inch screen... -
Inspiron 1720, and the M17x.
Oh and M1730 I believe.
-
there's studio 17 too.. Also , the Hp Dv8t also has dual hard drives.. the new envy 17 is supposed to also have.. the Asus G51VX , Asus G51J , Asus G71, G72 and G73 have dual hard drives...

Most of the business notebooks can exchange the dvd drive for another HDD (latitude, thinkpad, elitebook).
-
my Dell M6500 can hold 4 internal drives... it has two SSDs at the moment.
It has provision for a minicard SSD and if i use an optibay caddy I can remove the internal dvd player and replace it with another 2.5" latop drive.
I have a macbook with two 7k500 drives although they don't come from Apple that way. -
Apple MacBook Pros.
easily remove the DVD drives on them and replace them with a HDD/SSD drive. -
SomeFormOFhuman has the dumbest username.
Don't forget Sagers and Clevos:
D90XX series can hold up to 3 internal harddrives.
Sager NP8760
Gateway P Series as well.
There are many Asus'es with dual HDD support too especially their 15" counterparts... probably someone can name em'.
I think another interesting topic I would like to bring up is, Notebooks with Dual Harddrives & RAID support. Some of them have Dual HDD bays but do not have hardware/BIOS RAID support such as the Vostro 1700 and Inspiron 1720. -
Can you replace the DVD drive with a hard drive on any laptop or just certain ones?
-
For quite a few but the manufacturers don't build caddies to hold a 2nd HDD instead of the DVD on all laptops. You can find some custom ones in here:

Alright. I never use my DVD drive and would take it out, but then I would have a huge hole on the side of my laptop.
-
-
My friend told me his Asus N71 has two drives in raid 0.... -
i doubt it does.. asus rarely supports RAID... The G series don't as far as i know...
-
-
Gateway P78xx and P79xx series have dual support............
-
HP HDX 9XXX series also has support for dual hard drives
-
Asus has a number of 15-17" models that support dual drives...with the G51/60 models, the ones with 2 memory banks can fit two drives, but the ones with 3 banks block one of the drive bays. I believe all of the 17" G series hold two drives. -
Don't forget the Asus G73jh!
-
Also SONY VAIO TZ
-
asus g51vx-rx05, Thinkpad line, Dell Studio 1745 in my knowledge. (there are more of course)
-
I have two HDD's in my XPS M1730.
-
Two HDD's in Fujitsu-Siemens Xi1526
-
the new HP envy 17 is gonna be priced very well and be 12.5mm thick dual HD capable so you can configure with dual 1TB drives totalling 2TB space.
