    Hello, everyone.

I just sold my almost-three-year-old Macbook Pro and have been poking around on these forums to see what the PC laptop scene is like these days. I've learned quite a bit and discovered quite a few brands and resellers that I will look to when buying a new computer in a few months.

One of the more interesting discoveries I made is that the Alienware M17x supports HDMI input. I've seen many laptops with a variety of output options, but this is the first time I've seen one with an input.

Since Alienware laptops tend to be rather garish, I was wondering if anyone was familiar with other laptop models with a similar HDMI input. I had a low-end Alienware laptop about six years ago, and while I was happy with it at the time, I'd like to know if there were other options with this particular feature.

    Thanks.

Of course, but if I'm not mistake, Alieware is the only non workstation that has this port. Aside for it, both HP and Dell have HDMI inputs but only on their workstation models; and these are as dull and as unadorned as you would like.

I'm pretty sure the boutique brands like Clevo may also have HDMI inputs, but I'm not sure since I don't follow them too much.

What you are looking is a very specialized feature, and is actually a capture card (I think on the Alienwares it was actually just a monitor input)

What you need is this + any modern laptop with USB 3.0 ports.
