After buying 3 defective SATA drives in a row I've decided to consider SSD. At this rate it'll end up saving me money.
From what I can gather Mtron has fallen behind. Intel is #1 but their largest drive is only 160GB. I was wondering if anyone knew of plans to release larger drives?
Samsung used to be pretty good too but they seem to have stopped selling to the consumer. I found that the new Corsair SSDs have Samsung parts and they have up to 256GB of space, which is more do-able for me.
Then there's the OCZ Vertex.. seems to be popular but there are issues reported even after the newest firmware.

end of year there should be a 320gb version. no other plans announced so far from intel afaik.
i'll buy two 160gb in the next days btw. one for pc, one for laptop... -
I wish I had enough money to buy two.. I don't really have the money to buy one but I'm REALLY sick of failing drives. LOL
I might wait for the new drives then. The year is already half over.. I can live for a few more months. July-Sept is not so far away. -
Money's still tight on my end, so no X25-M or Vertex just yet.
Although the prices are certainly tempting...
Larger Intel SSD?
