Aside from the obvious gain of Pre-N with the Intel card are there any other benefits to upgrading to the 4965 from lenovos standard card? If not I wouldn't mind putting the money elseswhere...back in my pocket. Does the Intel do a better job of finding and maintaining connections?
Thanks,
Bryan

Man, I am using the 4965 on my G1S and it is great. I am in a room upstairs and I have perfect reception with the router downstairs.
It connects seamlessly and it is meant for Intel's chipsets (although that can be said for the Lenovo one's too). -
May I ask what router you are using?

We have an Actiontec 1424wr. Too my knowledge, it's a standard 802.11g wireless router provided with our verizon fios service. My laptop will see little use at home over the next 4 years and beyond (college).
Assuming all wireless networks are g and created equally, which card will perform better? Which is less power hungry? -
The Lenovo Thinkpad has an Atheros wireless card, which is very good compared to the other brands.
If you don't plan on using 11n, then just get the Thinkpad Wireless Card. You can always swap out for a different wireless card in the future.
