    Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p DVD/Bluray Drive

    Does anybody know if there's a place where I can purchase the internal dvd or bluray drive for the Y510p? Lenovo doesn't sell the separately and I'm having little success on ebay. Are other internal drives from lenovo compatible? Any thoughts?

    Thanks for the response. I tried calling and didn't get very far. I talked to several people, was bounced back and forth between Lenovo and IBM and never really got a straight answer. One representative did refer me to a parts website that might help but they have no drives for the Y510p. I read somewhere that dvd/bluray drives from older idea pad series would work in the Y510p.

    Would one for Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 Y560 Y560P work?

    The Y500 DVD and Bluray drives are compatible with the Y510p

    The drive you listed from Ebay works on the Y510p, however it does not have a matching faceplate, so it might look a little ugly.

    The part you wanna find is the Lenovo DB36 for Y500 and Y510p.

    Their CS sucks.
    They connected me to some guy in India via online chat, which is ok as Indian ppl are intelligent, but there was communication problem and I had to explain my questions 5 times before he got it.

    Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have been looking for the DB36 DVD part everywhere with no luck. I did find the DVD burner for the y400 on the lenovo website (DB35), would that work with the y510p?
