I own a lenovo x201 w/intergrated graphics. It's max resolution is 1280x800.
I'm looking to invest in an external monitor to hook up to it.
1.) Which of the two is the best?
a. Samsung P2450H 24-Inch Widescreen ($212)
or
b. Samsung PX2370 23-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor with LED Backlight ($280)
I am also open to recommendations of any other monitor (under $300)
2.) Will my X201 graphics take full advantage of any of these monitors?

P2450H seems like a deal compared to the other one, but you do get what you pay for:

The PX2370 has more accurate colours, fast response (good for games and movies) and is generally a much better monitor:

While $68 difference is something to keep in mind, between these two monitors to me, the choice is clear: the Samsung PX2370 23" is the only one worth considering.
If by 'full advantage' you mean if the X201 will display @ 1920x1080 resolution - it should. But expect your system to be (possibly) slightly slower in responding when connected to the external - especially if you want to use it in a dual monitor setup (external plus internal monitors displaying your desktop).
Good luck. -
i would get a Dell U2311 instead, these LCD use an e-IPS LCD, which is much better than a TN LCD, if you have more money get a Dell U2410.
However, if you are using these LCD it will be wise to invest in a x200 ultrabase and use the onboard displayport to get the best that these large LCD has to offer. These no point wasting your time with a high quality lcd using the analogue vga signal.
Otherwise it would like using a high quality FHD LCD tv with old VHS tape players, waste of time and money.
P.S. you may get one of these ultrabase from ebay for around 100 USD or so (sometimes less). -

While I can agree that the ultrabase w/displayport connector will be optimal, the VGA DSub signal will still offer a superior experience over the built-in screen. (With no additional cost...).

Now I think is around 300 something. The 2211 was still 200 something last month, not sure now.
But if you are using it for gaming, the response time may not be what you want. -
Yea dell monitors are pretty good in general and generally the way to go for me. Good quality, good price, looks pretty good too (depending on your taste).
you should probably invest in the ultrabase to go with it so you can use display port -

Any ideas as to how the Samsung SyncMaster B2030 measures up?
