So my X220 battery (6-cell, Lenovo 29+) has been through 592 cycles and it can now hold 52% of it's original capacity (as reported by ThinkVantage diagnostics).

Is such a drastic loss in battery capacity normal for this many cycles?

Yes to a degree. You've also managed to go through that many cycles in a fairly short period of time which doesn't help.

I would say how long has he owned his X220, from launch, it would be over 2 years, and 592 charge cycles is still less than 1 full cycle per day. But back to OP's question, 52% capacity seems normal with that many charge cycles. Have you done a battery reset?

Thanks for the response! .. I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

I haven't done a battery reset yet - will look into it.
