    Hey all,

I've had my Lenovo X60 for awhile now, and after a few years of use and abuse (more the latter, see attachment) I definitely need to get myself a new battery.

In looking at replacement batteries, I've found them to be quite on the pricey end, at least from reputable places like the Lenovo site and Amazon. However, I've also found other places where the prices are drastically lower (ie. Lenovo ThinkPad X60 1709 Batteries - IBM/Lenovo Laptop Battery - 14.4 Volt - 4400 mAH - Li-Ion, yes I know its lower mAh than stock)

Is it OK to purchase from these other online distributors, or is it advisable to avoid any places advertising lower prices at all costs and pony up the $$ for the original manufacturer?

    Thanks.

If you can afford to be a little patient, X6x batteries do occasionally come up in the Lenovo Outlet and they're dirt cheap. I bought a six cell battery for my old R60. It was about $35 and it was like new with zero cycles, but all outlet batteries have only a 90 warranty. I think there was some in there last week, but I've no idea if or when they'll be back.
