OKay, I just tried playing From Dust on my Y470, and it got up to 72c, which is very hot. What can I do to keep it cooler? I have a mat, but it is not a very good one for cooling, sometimes the fans wont work, its a targus chillmat I think. But other than buying a better mat, what can I do? I have only had it for about a week or two.

72C isn't bad at all... The hardware has a threshold of 100C... so 72C is well within specs...

Hmm, do you game on your Y470? What temps do you get? I might buy a USB fan for the vent to increase the amount of hot air being blowed out.

Most GPU are in the danger zone 85C+ for sustained periods. 72C IMO isn't so bad.

The biggest thing cooling pads do is raise the laptop so the fan can actually draw in cooler air to cycle out the heat.

The one I am looking at, is the Cooler Master Storm SF-19, which has 2x140mm fans. And if I also get a USB fan to use for the side vent, hopefully my temps will go down.

The max I've recorded from my GFX was about 80C... Overclocked... and I don't have any auxiliary fans or anything...
