    Hello all,

I have a Lenovo Y510P, 1TB hard drive running Windows 8. I purchased it without the M2. So I bought a 32GB MyDigitalSSD SC2 for cache, and I also bought a 128GB to see if there were any major differences between Caching and running directly from the SSD. Everything worked flawlessly for both scenarios... first I installed Windows 8 on the 128GB M2 NGFF and it worked great. Then I installed the 32GB M2 NGFF and installed Lenovo Expresscache, worked well, then I uninstalled ExpressCache and installed the FNET HybriDisk software the SC2 came with, worked even better. amazingly well actually. But then I decided to get a 64GB of the same brand for cache, and it will not recognize in Windows. It's in the BIOS, but will not show up in Windows no matter what I do. Here's the kicker, the 128GB I put Windows 8 on shows up, so if I wanted to I could use that for the cache drive, but I want to test a 64GB. Here are some of the things I've tried thus far.

    1) RMA and got a new 64GB... same thing.
    2) Changed almost every setting changeable in the Lenovo BIOS, Insydeh20 Rev. 3.7
    3) Completely uninstalled all caching programs.
    4) Put the 32GB back in, installed ExpressCache again, then unassociated the 32GB with the program.
    5) Uninstalled the 32GB in the device manager.
    6) Uninstalled Intel's RST and switched to the Microsoft AHCI driver.
    7) Reinstalled RST with the newest software from Intel.
    8) Installed Windows 7, all 4 recognize fine, the 32GB, both 64GB, and the 128GB

I definitely know my way around the hardware and the software, but at this point, the only thing I can think is Windows 8 locked that port to those specific parts, (the 32GB and the 128GB that is.) I think I need to find some way of clearing the parts from the system so W8 will recognize the 64GB. I'm not sure if the IRQ has something to do with this, but there is no way in the BIOS to set the IRQ to auto.

    Any ideas?

Reading that post was really confusing to me.

Have you tried disabling secure boot? Also, reinstall your chipset drivers on Windows 8(.1), i think this is the cause of the issue.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Sorry for making it so confusing, I wanted to make sure everyone knew the whole story to limit suggestions I had already tried. I'm assuming secureboot is the same as hybridboot or 'fast startup.' Correct?

As for the chipset, I had that idea, but couldn't figure out how to uninstall the chipset, so I ran the chipset upgrade tool, but that did not work. Is there an easy way to uninstall the chipset?

Yes, I had previously installed the "Intel Chipset Driver for 64-bit Windows"
Now I just tried the "Intel Management Engine Interface for 64-bit Windows"
Neither helped the new hardware show up, is there a way to uninstall the chipset before running these programs?
