    Hi everyone

I bought a Lenovo Z580 about 1 and a half years ago and it is very fast but the graphics aren't very good and i want an upgrade. I have seen somebody use an external graphics card with their Lenovo Z570 on these forums and was wondering if i could do that. I know i probably could find out how to do this on the internet but all of the contradictions with some people saying you can't improve graphics on a laptop full-stop whilst I've seen some people do it. I have never messed around with computers (disassembling, improving and stuff like that) but i am pretty good with my hands (built a 3d printer when i was 13(I'm 14 now) out of scraps in my garage, disassembled printers and 2nd hand ebay stuff) but i would rather not solder on my laptop as i will be scared i might break it. It has an Intel Core i7 3520M 2.9GHz, 8Gb RAM, 750Gb HDD, Windows 8.1 and i have it hooked up to a monitor, keyboard and mouse as i have started using it for gaming. I want it to be able to run games on high (such as Skyrim) but ultra seems a bit overkill. I have a spare PSU that i am using on my 2nd 3d printer i just finished building but it hardly draws much current and the leads will stretch to where i have my laptop. I have a few friends that have built their own PC's and are generally in the know about this sort of stuff so they can help. Also can you please not tell me to just buy a new laptop or just immediately dismiss the idea, I know it might not be possible to do this but i really want this to work.

I hope i have not missed anything out but if i have please tell me.

    Josh

You have one mpci-e slot, in that slot you can add the egpu adapter. But then you need to have a usb wifi card.
