-
Dell Precision M6700 iirc, optional. Also the previous generation of Precision: both the M4600 and M6600 had optional IPS displays.
-
Let's just add current models, thanks - added a few more.
Impressive displays on these notebooks. -
I added 2 more.

Lenovo W530 has an optional IPS HD display.

Thanks, added

The W530 has no optional IPS display. All three display options are TN...
-
Ok, I will double check from now on
-
touché, and this whole time I was looking at the W530 as if it did have one...thanks -
I have it in my W520 and I have no problems with it whatsoever. Even looks better than the AFFS IPS display in my X61t; just without the wide viewing angles obviously. -
I agree, there are a few very good TN screen around, but the chance to get a good screen using IPS is much much better than the chance of getting a good screen using TN.

Any 14" matte IPS displays with 1600x900 resolution?
-
The only 14" LCD that's IPS like is the HP Spectre. I don't know if it's matte, but I believe it's covered in Gorilla Glass, which is pretty much the same thing as glossy.

Are all the Dreamcolor laptop panels 30 bit? It would be nice to also list the bit depth if known.
Typing this on my ratty 6 bit panel -

It's glossy, that's why it's not included here, but it's a beautiful screen, I have seen in person, but way too glossy for my taste.

This list and thread have been very useful to me. I'm trying to buy a new laptop to replace my Elitebook 8440p, since it's heavy and the screen is not great. Here are the notes I've gathered in case anyone is interested :
Requirements : matte IPS screen, 14-inch or less screen, under 4 pounds, i5 processor or better
Choice 1) Samsung Series 9 13-inch , NP900X3C-A05US
Drawbacks : 4GB of RAM can't be upgraded, speakers are poor, slow SSD, requires special cable for VGA, can't output to 2560x1440 screen, many people dislike touchpad, possible WiFi issues,
Positives : Best and brightest screen, dedicated graphics card, stylish, very thin.
Choice 2) Lenovo Thinkpad x230 with IPS screen
Drawbacks : Screen is only 12.5 inches, would prefer 13 or 14 inch, speakers are poor, integrated HD4000 graphics only, kinda thick, styling is totally boring.
Positives : Can display to 2560x1440 monitor, RAM upgradeable to 12GB , 3 USB ports, solid build quality.
Asus Zenbook UX32A or UX32VD : I can't consider those, because they are ugly to me, and my last Asus laptop was horrible.
If anyone has any comments, then let me know. Maybe Samsung Series 7 Ultra with 8GB of RAM is the way to go? Wonder how much it will cost . . . -

We just received the X230 with IPS screen here at work, wow, this screen is good, too bad it's too small and the resolution is low, but the quality itself is really good
All good laptops should have screens like this, I'm amazed that most screens are crap, specially the ones I see in stores, glossy with low resolution and crappy viewing angles. -
I recommended you a Asus UX31a (full hd version only ) or Sony VAIO S (only 15") they are better than others.
-
UX31a is excellent, but the full HD screen on 13" is too small for my old eyes, I do prefer the Sony, the screen is not quite as good as the Asus, but it's very good compared to most other screens.

Mr_Mysterious Like...duuuuuude
As a brand new 900X3C owner, I can tell you that the screen is amazing and the speakers are above the category average. The only downsides are the average battery life and the limitations to 4GB of RAM. But, if you were to get the 900X4D, which is the 15" version, which is still very light, you get much better battery life.
Mr. Mysterious -
Yeah, I know, but the problem with the 15" is that it's not a PLS screen, according to the rumours a Full HD PLS version of the 15" will be released sometime this year.

-

I am gonna buy a Vaio Pro.
The new Sony Vaio Pro has an option of non-touch screen model. But i couldnt find proper spec for the display. Anybody knows, is it a IPS screen and matte or glossy?
The touch screen model has glossy IPS display panel and anti-glare surface. I see it on the shop, it is neither glossy nor matte. But if the non touch screen model is matte IPS, i would prefer it for sure.
I wonder, the display panel of non touch screen model and touch screen panel are different or not.
By the way, on sony-asia i've found the weight of the two models. The non touchscreen model was about 120gr lighter than the other, maybe this is a clue for you.

wii, can you add the Fujitsu Lifebook T902 convertible laptop to the list. It has a 13.3" 1600x900 anti-glare IPS display that is touch-enabled and comes with a Wacom active digitizer. Something to note is that the T902 display appears grainier and more glossy than a typical non-touch laptop even though it has an anti-glare cover. Perhaps you can also distinguish on your the list which laptops are touch and which are non-touch as well since I think the touch versions, even if it is anti-glare/matte, the quality if not as good as a non-touch since an additional screen is added for the touch feature.
BTW, the IPS option is no longer available for the Precision M6700 due to those having some tinting in the display and Dell withdrew that configurable option.
Another one: Clevo W740SU is a 14" laptop with Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle (AHVA) and an anti-glare display. I think this wide viewing angle feature is only available for the 1920x1080 resolution option, not sure. -
Done, thanks, I also added the Acer Aspire V5-573G with an optional matte IPS screen, which I have seen in person and looks fantastic
-
Toughbook C2, a semi-rugged 12.5" convertible laptop with pen and touch enabled. Has anti-glare coating and an IPS display. Unlike the Toughbook AX2 and AX3, the C2 is available in the US.
Now onto the more interesting news: HP's updated line of mobile workstations have anti-glare + IPS option along with the new Haswell chip and external redesign (e.g. omission of "claws" to keep laptops shut, thinner, and lighter). They marketed their IPS displays as "UWVA" (ultra-wide viewing angles) or DreamColor UWVA so remember to look for those terms.
Look at those gorgeous anti-glare displays!
The following models have the anti-glare + IPS option and are available for orders now:
1. ZBook 15 - 15 inch display
2. ZBook 17 - 17 inch display
The ZBook 14, has also been officially announced but is not available yet for orders.
Some more pictures below. I'm not sure which models are which.
Look at that awesome wide-viewing angle above. It's likely an IPS display.
Personally I am excited about HP's redesign of their mobile workstations and will follow up on the ZBook 14 a little more when it is released. -
Thanks, list opdated with the new ZBooks from HP.
