I have a few questions. Since I only use my adapter. How should I store my battery? Yes I've read the that one thread on how to maintain a battery but it wasn't clear.
Should I store my battery at 40% charged?
If so, do I need to re-charge it up to 100% every month or so and discharge it back down to 40% to store again?
I have been using my adapter for quite some time now and don't plan on using the battery until probably early September or maybe even later.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!![]()

You don't need to recharge it every month or so, since batteries are rated on how many charge cycles they have (i.e. 800).
It's differing opinion on what charge level it should be stored at, some say 60%, some 50%, some 40%, and I've even heard of 30%. I think it just all depends on the battery itself, maybe its particular chemistry. Personally, I would store it at 40%. I did for my old gateway laptop for 3 months, and it was perfectly fine afterwards.
Battery companies store their batteries in coolers; nearly the same conditions as your refrigerator. It is temperature changes that you want to avoid when storing your battery. Since a refrigerator is in everyones house, and keeps everything in it at a relatively constant temperature, it is usually the best place.
Also, a battery's chemicals are constantly reacting (making power), whether it is being used or not. Having it in cold temperatures will greatly reduce the speed of this reaction, thereby putting less wear on your battery.
Hope that helps -
Yeah it does I guess...
but since I know that I'm going to be using the battery itself in about a month or so, should I just charge it to 100 now? Would it make a difference if I do it now or later in a month or so?
