I have both sets of speakers. Obviously the biggest difference is the 2.1 vs 5.1 setups. Currently im using the x-530's with my xbox 360 and the z-2300's as my music speakers hooked up to either my laptop or desktop.

Once i get my gaming desktop or laptop i was wondering what you guys think would be better suited for gaming and/or music. I can't use the 5.1 as my xbox 360 speakers anymore because the wire length isn't long enough for the living room. So it's either of these sets used with my pc. not sure what way to go here.... i'll probably either sell the other set or let them in closet till i have use for them. thanks

well 5.1 dose have it's advatanges, such as surround sound.....but the z2300's are king when it comes to power......as I recall the x-530 is only 70RMS watts whereas the z2300 is 200RMS watts.
if you want the volume, bass, calrity and so forth....go with the z2300
if you must have the surround sound go with the x-530...or even better....save some money and get the z5300e.
