Hi all, I am looking for a sound card for my Dell 9300 and my small hometheater. I want a sound card to output a digital signal via optical or coaxial. This is so my HT receiver can do all the surround sound processing instead of the my PC. I want to be able to use my receiver for everything from DD-EX, DTS-ES and DPL-IIx.
P.S. Here is a pic of my small HT. Sorry about the words all over. That was for a HT forum I go to.
Thanks,
WMD

I'm thinking this ( http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=16&product=14191) is what you need. And something like this. ( http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=204&product=10769&nav=0)

Try the Echo Indigo Sound Card.

For high quality audio playback with games, movies, etc., the Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 notebook card is quite good. I use one in my Sager 5720. If you're going to create/record digital audio with your notebook, the Echo Indigo would be the better choice, though it is more expensive.

Get the Audigy 2 ZS sound card, I've been using it for a while now and it's been amazing on my 5.1 sound system.

Are you guys using the Audigy 2 ZS's processing, or your receiver's processing?
From what I have seen, the Audigy 2 ZS only has analog 5.1 outputs. This means the card/PC will do the processing. Does it have a digital output so I can use my receiver's processing? -
Creative's digital out is severely crippled, so it only works properly with Creative acoustics. It's a marketing trick. If you want digital out, beware of them.
Look for a GREAT sound card for my Dell 9300!
