    Audigy 2ZS

    Retails $120CDN
Bought it used off some dude for $40CDN :p

Ive always wanted to try this card to see if it lived up to the hype and finally did. $40 is a steal! I ran it yesterday, sounds great, but honestly...not a HUGE improvement over my onboard when it comes to MP3. Movies yes, but i rarely watch movies on my computer anyways. Maybe I didnt test it on enough songs for long enough to tell.

So I can either sell it and make a good profit, or keep it. Hmmm...(I dont need it at all)...but it is cooll. Cant say I would have paid $120 full price.

i would have to disagree with you here...the audigy 2zs is a very nice card...and miles above onboard sound...my onboard sound does not give the base as the audigy does, and it can handle more sounds at once ( like in games where people are shooting and yelling and people yelling on a microphone like in bf2/cs)..onboard just stops playing sound until that is over...its like an integrated video card IMO..nothing beats dedicated...nothing.

    pb,out.

pb, you are right. I did notice deeper bass but meh Im no audiophile and the onboard seems to be doing a good enough job for me...so I sacrificed the card and made some profit :). Glad I was able to try it out though, considering all the hype on this guy.

sometimes the hype is overrated..but in this case, the audigy 2 zs is worth the hype.

Office Depot has been selling the boxed audigy 2 ZS for notebooks for $50 this week at some stores to get rid of stock. I was wondering if it was to make room for the A2ZS in the blister packs, or mabe something new.

$24! I missed the $50 one at my Office Depot by 2 hours. $24. right on!

I have Audigy 2 ZS's in two of my tower's. One with 5500's 5.1 and the other with great 2.1 speakers.

The ZS makes a huge difference.

Which speakers would you couple Audigy MP3+ (5.1 chan.) that's in my tower and Audigy that will come with my e1705 lappy? I hear Logitech speakers are good. I plan to watch movies, play games, etc.

BTW, what are the stats on the SB Audigy in my Dell Inspiron e1705?

I have the Logiteck 5300's 5.1 which are great with the A2ZS, It's a small room or I would want the 5500's (more power). Games are great, but I also like the DVD movies on a 20" CRT with the 5.1 and the A2ZS. I have an Xfi on another system but the A2ZS is wonderful too.
