Search ebay and other places for a good deal on the WD Scoripo black. With all that I read on it I'm thinking about swapping out my Hitachi 7k320 for one of those bad boys. I like the Hitachi its fast, quiet, and I got a great deal on ebay $70.

You won't notice a difference between the wd black and the hitachi 7k320 (and the seagate 7k320)

If only I would have saw this post 5 minutes ago haha. I just bought a WD Scorpio black for 64.99 on ebay. It'll just replace my Hitachi, which will replace my Scorpio Blue, which will become an external. Luckily I bought an extra enclosure on ebay recently...I knew one day my poor spending habits would come in handy haha.

Here is the link to the selling of the WD Scorpio Blacks for 64.99  !!!
You Can't beat this deal with a titanium retractable night stick:D. The seller seemse quite reputable and when I get my HDD I'll let you all know!!!

Buying a WD black to replace a 7K320 is kinda silly. They are based on the same platters and perform the same.

To bad you didnt see the zipzoomfly special last week on the 7K320 for $50 after rebate. I wish I waited. I bought three of the 160gb models at $110 a piece. I would have saved a lot of money and had twice the storage

Get this! I got my 320gb Scorpio black for $65. If that doesn't scream deal I don't know what does. :p...I also saw a Seagate 7200.3 for around $60-$70ish was very tempted to get both.

I'd say it may be a deal for someone who didn't already have a 7k320 but for you it was just buying an external 320gb hdd without the external encloser haha

Edit: just realized you have 2 internal hdd's u can take out that old 250gigger and raid0 the two 320's :)

Never judge a book by its cover, make sure that the scorpio black HD is better in comparison to other manufacturers such as Seagate and Hitachi.. If you are looking for cheaper deals try searching the internet for online dealers, and always compare prices between dealers and stores. Good luck in finding your HD.

I'm already going to do that minus the raid0 part because a)I don't know how and b)I don't think this laptop can.

Pretty much is most benchmarks that Scorpio black out performs the Hitachi. The only thing Hitachi really wins by is power consumption and heat production. I'm saving up for 2 Seagate 7200.4 500gb.
