Sorry if this isn't how you guys help here, I've searched and can't find the answer to this question. On my info email when I got the computer it state:

    4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (1 DIMMs)

Now I am wondering because I did a search on Crucial and it has one that says, SO-DIMM, that it said will work on my system. So I want to find out if this one will work on my 2nd Gen 17R:

    Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Laptop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-4GBSQ

    4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

is what it states on the Newegg website, the only difference is the one number, (PC3 10666) on the Crucial site with that memory finder tool it has (PC3 10600) listed and the rest of the stats are the same except for that number being higher on this memory I want to use. Will it work without hurting things?

10666 and 10600 are the same thing

i have those gskills in my laptop right now and they work very well...they should work just fine with your Inspiron 17R (as long as you have another ram slot which you should have)

Thanks so much SlickDude80! I thought so but I wasn't 100% sure and felt compelled to post here to ask BEFORE buying it. I really appreciate the help. Now if someone searches for Ram on the 17R this thread will come up with the info that they might be seeking. :D

    *phew!*
