    Hi

I have a Lenovo T420 with the Intel 160gb SSD. I would like to add at least 64GB of additional space.

I do not want to replace the existing SSD or add a second drive in the media bay.

What option would work best (best = price and performance)
64GB SD Card or something for the Express Card Slot (not familiar with what is available here)?

    Thanks.

An ExpressCard SSD would be your best choice when size, cost and performance are all taken into account. However, a downside is possibly high(er) operating tempertures for this device.

An SD card would give you the capacity, but at an exceedingly slow rate (copying/moving files to/from the card).

Here are a couple of options:

SanDisk 64GB Ultra Secure Digital High Capacity, SDXC, Memory Card, 15MB/Sec Read/Write Speed ($109)

which got 4-star reviews, the only con being:
    and slow transfer speeds.

In terms of Expresscard SSDs, not too many people make them anymore. There is a 48GB that got decent reviews: Wintec FileMate 48GB Ultra ExpressCard ($150)

There is also a 96 GB version available ($270).

Oh, you can also put one of these Mini PCI-Express SSDs in your mini-pciE port if you have one available (this is where you would otherwise plug your WWAN card into).

There seem to be a lot of options.
