My mother board will support a faster cpu than the present 1.66. I would like to up grade the cpu but haven't found a place online to buy one. Any one know of such a place?

Well, Since it's a 1.66Ghz it could be either a Yonah or a Merom Core (Yonah = Core Duo, while Merom = Core 2 Duo). Not knowing more than I do about the laptop you should get a merom since, they should be drop-ins from what i can gather, and they are faster clock for clock than the Yonahs. This means you should look into the T7xxx series (Core 2) for best performance

I suppose your in the US, and you could take a look at www.newegg.com for finding a new one. While i lived in the US i shopped there and didn't have a problem

(Edit: You could also find vendors at www.pricegrabber.com or www.pricewatch.com - just be careful and find a "respectable vendor")

Download CPU ID ( http://www.cpuid.com/) and see what socket you've got first. If you've got an older processor, you could have a Socket M processor. If it's more current, it's most likely Socket P. CPUID will tell you for sure which is the one you have.

The fastest processor you can upgrade to is the T7600. Since it is extremely expensive, the T7400, t7200, t5600 are all other options for upgrades. Just make sure that the chip you buy has a 667Mhz fsb, because an 800Mhz FSB processor will not work.

Simply type the processor number into Google shopping, and you will find places which sell them. ex: "Intel T7200"

No. He has a socket P processor. Those processors you listed are socket M. The fastest processor he can go to is either a T7700 or even a T9500 if there's a BIOS that supports Penryn.
