Pascal card can only output video using Display Port (regular "desktop" or eDP), HDMI, DVI-D (DIGITAL) and that's it, if your display doesn't support one of those video format you need to use another gpu to "render" video to the screen (in case of optimus it's the iGPU that "render" the video) or to change the screen.

Oh ok, thank you. I have eDP so it should be fine. I'm still not sure about the vBIOS, but I'm thinking about just going for it. Anyone know if a Clevo vBIOS exists for the quadro mobile cards?

I have a P5200 and the HP bios is good!
It's stable now. The NV panel should be set so that you do not consume too much and you will not freeze.
    (energy management mode .... 5.)

Hi friend congratulations for the great work and contribution with this forum.. I want to inform everyone that the Nvidia Quadro P4200 MXM card with EEPROM Winbond W25Q40EW and Dell V-Bios 86.04.8A.00.3E also is fully functional in an Alienware 17 R1 Ranger, but in extreme use of the GPU the graphics card slows down because it requires more power from the MXM socket with 115W Dell V-BIOS but I would bet that an Hp V-Bios P4200 would solve the power limitation issue, could someone help me get an HP V-Bios P4200 ? I will be grateful for any help in getting an HP P4200 V-Bios

please can you help me? mr007rm

Ok Friend .. I intended to do this but I would like to first solve the power limitation problem to make accurate tests of benchmarks in games, advanced rendering programs, 3DMark and etc ...

    1,
I reduced the power consumption of vbios 150W to max 120-130W by the MSI AB program. I used a live meter. Then apply UV. I set it in one line (Win + P) and the consumption decreased, which I set ..... it became stable.
    2,
The geforce performance (optimus) on the internal display is better, higher, stronger.
And quadro calculation is much better on an HDMI external display.

High power consumption drains the battery quickly. The temperature is very high here. Around 100W was good.

    60998_kepernyofelvetel_734.jpg

Or another solution. I am now using an RTX 5000 card with this.
Table cooling .... DIY. Or solder an extra heat pipe to the gpu heatsink.

Hi friend, thank you very much for the tips, but I'm still inexperienced in these procedures that you mentioned, is there any tutorial here on the forum or a video teaching you how to perform the procedures you performed to reduce the power consumption of your GPU? would appreciate it if you can recommend me some step by step on the subject ..

    hi,

I hope experience has been gained and someone can help me.

I have the P5200 installed with a HP vbios. Nvidia driver Modified and everything runs. Now I wanted to set the Gpu to the test run and at 3D mark I have the problem that my FPS goes up and down. so it does not run stable.

can someone explain to me what the problem is and how I can solve it?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Limit Reason, it displays what is limiting your system.

    i have run 3d benchmark and hwinfo64.
I noticed that the GPU power always changes from 130w and 70w. with this change my fps also changes and goes up and down.

could there be something to it?
sorry I do not know much about the HWinfo64.

my GPU is running in optimus mode.

Look at the sensors, there is a lot of them that have limit reasons, it tells you why its throttling there.

Lots of vbios consumption .... 150W. He needs UV. Then stop at a level. MSI AB. Set in a low line between 1500-1600Mhz. (ctrl + F) Then during game monitoring, power consumption .... will lower to a more stable level. I set it between 110-130W.

Ok. I will try and get in touch with him tomorrow. Can you then store the value so that it always stays that way? Do you always have to switch off msi?

Could another driver solve the problem?

Of course, you can save the setting with the numbers under the padlock.
"L" for that value, then "Apply" in the middle, then save page for numbers .... padlock.

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I set it to 850mv the same way. Since then, there is no fps slump anymore. I have tested it further and at 950mv the break-ins start again. I saved it at 850mv. At let I get 84 degrees temperature.

Is there a way to get full strength?

In the fire strike I currently have 13314

Usually thermal throttling or power throttling is used to brake. You have both present. Lots of power consumption, but good utilization and high warming, which is why the vbios also takes it back. Need good cooling. (bad english)
I have a motherboard max 130W, I think. If the card 150W is the problem., Not good. Power limit throttling performs, takes it back ... bounces here. That is why it needs to be flattened, balanced.

okay that means it must be reduced somewhere else so that more remains for the graphics card. could a power supply from 230w to 330w help?

The Hp Zbook 17 also has a power supply of 240w.

The graphics card is currently running in my Clevo p177sm-a.

I do not know. Each motherboard has a different one. I have a factory power supply of 180W and can't draw more power on the motherboard with more power. Pl 330W. I use one now. It doesn't matter if it's more, so it can withstand the load better, but it has no other use for me.

Get a consumption meter and analyze under load what it shows.

Write down what you experienced. Maybe we can win with a better distribution, I don’t know. Just what better distribution ..... need the cpu too.
