Toshiba X200 (also known as X205 in US and other countries)

I'm wondering if someone could recommend me a good 160-250GB drive (e.g. Samsung... etc...)

I'm presuming it is a SATA II that I need?

The current drive I have is a 160GB with the OS on at 5400rpm which I am looking to replace and install vista fresh on the new one.

Will a 7200rpm drive work fine? as I would prefer a faster drive (I have the laptop plugged in all the time anyway and never on battery).

    Buying in the UK.

Yes, a 7200RPM drive will work fine. If your machine doesn't support SATA II, it will downclock the drive. I personally have been using Seagate drives of late. All the 7200RPM drives are pretty similar in real world performance. I like Seagate's because it allows you a free download of DiscWizard, which is essentially a limited version of True Image, a very good backup program.

WD5000BEVT 500g 5400 rpm, its performance is very good, it is current the best 5400rpm hdd.
    I just upgrade to a WD5000BEVT from preinstalled Toshiba 120G 5400.
    I really satisfy with it.
