Hey all, I am looking for a multifuntion printer. The functions I want are just printing and scanning. I don't want fax stuff. I am looking to spend under $200. Prefereably around $100. I have had many HP printers in the past.....well we have three in my house now...all of which are great. So I am a little partial to HP, however I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!

Try looking at Canon MP line, I heard they weren't bad. If you can extend the budget by $50 (250) depending where you buy, Samsung has a very good laser b/w scanner, fax, copier. But, it's large and bulky compared to the inkjets.

I'd agree with the HP printers...love every single one I've ever had.

I'd personally avoid Lexmark and Dell printers...nothing but trouble in my history of them.

Yea, I have a Dell, never got it to work quite right. I guess I shoudl also be looking for a printer with networking capabilities too. I could stretch to 250, I mostly put budget in their so no one reccommends really expensive ones. I would prefer for it to be compact as well.

If you want a network capable printer, check out the HP Deskjet 6940. It comes with an Ethernet port. HP may have a version of that printer that also scans.

I have one, love it, and will soon be switching it over to to WiFi AP via Ethernet so that I can print from anywhere in my WiFi network.

However, if you can't get a decent multifunction: I'd recommend the Canon CanoScan Lide 60 (or newer equivalent). It is powered directly off of USB, so you can take it anywhere as well. I've also never had issues with it and the images are satisfactory enough!

Thanks for the tips, I will check those two products out. maybe I would be better off looking for a printer and scanner seperately.
